• Our approach is different - we teach based on a "building block" basis so that when our participants leave, they know how to work through a situation on a step-by-step basis to find the correct result. We teach you to understand how changing factors can change the results so that you can deal with the situations you encounter everyday. It's great to know the correct answer; it's even better to know why it's correct!
  
  
• We conduct "workshops" - not seminars or presentations - our participants do just that – participate. We have in-depth instruction, participant interaction, case studies, question/answer sessions, and even a few games.
  
  
• Our workshops are taught by the leading experts in the field to nonresident alien tax compliance. We advise a wide range of organizations on nonresident alien tax issues – including large public and multi-campus universities, small private colleges, hospitals, foundations, and governmental agencies. As recognized leaders in the nonresident alien tax field, our instructors have both the technical expertise and practical experience to answers to your “real-life” questions and to offer practical workshop tips.
  
  
• When we say “we wrote the book on nonresident alien tax compliance” – we did! Our books are used by institutions around the country as their guide for how to approach this complex issue and they are the basis for our training.
  
  
• Our strength lies in our ability to "bridge the gap" between the complex tax law and the practical application of the law in your day-to-day activities.
  
  
• We put issues in the context our participants will encounter them – we don’t just give them a stack of papers and leave them feeling confused.
  
  
• We don't believe in the "one-size fits all" approach to training – we offer five levels of instruction and fifteen topics! You choose what's right for you, and if you're not sure, call us and we'll discuss what you're looking to accomplish with training. At Arctic, your training experience is geared to your skill level and interests!
  
  
• We've added a new coding system to identify our workshop instruction levels:
  B – Beginning Level: Generally for those with less than 2 years of experience in this topic; I – Intensive Level: Generally for those with more than 2 years of experience in this topic who need a refresher; U – Update: Generally for those with more than 2 years of experience in this topic who need an Update of the recent issues; F– Focused Topic: A Focused discussion to supplement any Beginning, Intensive or Update workshop; and G – GLACIER: For GLACIER clients only.
  
  
• When was the last time you had fun at a training class – yes, we said fun! We don’t just lecture- you’ll work through case studies, participate in group activities, discuss real-life examples and who knows, you might even play “Nonresident Alien Tax Jeopardy” or “Who Wants to be a Nonresident Alien Tax Specialist”. We like to mix it up – keep things lively and interesting to increase participant interaction. We love what we do, and by creating a relaxed and open atmosphere, our participants have fun and (just as important) learn and retain more!
